Signs and Symptoms
A baby with anencephaly is usually deaf, blind, unconscious and unable to feel pain due to the lack of brain tissue. The main symptoms include:
· Absence of the back of the skull
· Abnormal bones on the sides of the face
· Heart defects
· Absence of some parts of the brain
· Cleft palate
